Goal: To provide accurate and timely information to the Secretary and Divisions to
facilitate decision making in the areas of operating and capital biennial budgets,
facilities planning, grants, and population forecasting. The Bureau strives to achieve
this goal by: Advising the Secretary and Division Administrators on strategies to
effectively communicate budget and policy initiatives to the Governor, the legislature,
and other interested parties. Preparing capital and operating budget requests within
established guidelines. Developing technical program statements to ensure that technical
requirements and standards are met and procedures are followed in building or improving
state-owned facilities. Pursuing grant opportunities and reviewing grant applications.
